I've done it. The novelty wears off pretty quickly. I've used an original //c
in conjunction with a cigarette lighter adapter cable (not an inverter) and
with a Prarie Power Pack... and a //c+ with a standard inverter.
If it were still 198x, It would be a lot more practical but when I travel, I
emulate now, and save the real gear for when I'm at home (or KFest!).
Years ago, when I was was bench tech for a state-operated hospital, there were
a few people who lugged around battery equipped //c computers to their patients
(for specialized testing) but as soon as grant money came in, a //e would be
installed on the unit, and the //c would be retasked to the school program.
I've also met a couple of people who lived on boats (former boss and friends)
who used //c computers on and off inverters.
