OK some clarification may be in order. The "GS mode" that Mike is
referring to basically means that you have booted some version of GS/
OS - a graphical user interface reminicent of early Macs. The "//e
mode" referred to means that you have either booted a ProDOS 8 or
DOS3.3 disk, or hit CTRL-RESET to get to a command prompt. It should
be noted that you can get to the IIgs control panel by typing
OpenApple-CTRL-ESC as mentioned, but you can do this from either
within GS/OS, ProDOS 8, or DOS3.3 - this functionality is built into
the ROM of the IIgs.
