Great work!
I have bought all of the components to do this mod myself, and have
made a start. However, I do not own a good de-soldering tool and I
lost motivation for now. Especially since I just picked up another 4Mb
card off eBay for AU$20.50 (although I had to use 2Mb of my own DRAM's
to get it to 4Mb).
Make sure you run one of the available memory checking programs on
your card (if you haven't already) to verify that everything is
working correctly (IMHO the best IIgs memory tester can be found on
the Utilities disk for AppleworksGS).
When I was looking at doing the mod a couple of months ago, I tried to
relate the schematic to the images (which are of poor quality) posted
on the original site. I noticed some discrepancies between the two (I
can't remember specifics now). Did you notice this? Did you go
strictly by the schematic (apart from cutting pin 27)?
I hope to get back onto performing this mod soon. I'll probably just
snip the 256x1 DRAM's from the board to make the desoldering easier in
leui of getting a good de-soldering tool.
cheers,
