Re: RGB to Component video converter (SCART)

Based on the my understanding of the subject matter, the IIGS output
(on the RGB port) is R/G/B + H+V composite sync, with horizontal
refresh at a not-quite-NTSC-standard 15khz clock inherited from the
Apple II, and vertical 60Hz refresh.

Starlightgaming sells the following "CGA to VGA converter", reasonably
priced:

they also have several units available on eBay, from seller ID
"starlightgaming". It appears to have the proper inputs and outputs. I
believe it uses a 5VDC Vcc also, which is easy to find on a IIGS logic
board (especially with GSE-Reactive's heavy duty power supply of
course). I bet it could be artfully mounted inside the IIGS case.

Of course, it's about $100 shipped, but it does seem to be readily
available (as opposed to more expensive stuff from Inline and
Micomsoft that is more expensive and quickly snapped up on eBay). I've
been searching for this kind of setup myself, since I'm building a
IIGS and I don't do CRT monitors.
