Select File->Archive Info (or hit Ctrl-I). See if there are entries in
the notes area about suspicious or damaged files.
Some emulators allow you to open an under-sized .hdv and expand it
as necessary. CiderPress doesn't support this, because it's too hard
to reliably tell the difference between an "expandable" image and a
damaged one.
You can either copy the files from one image to another, or from within
AppleWin read and write block 65535 in the image to force it to expand to
full size. If size is concern, you can use a gzip-compressed image with
CiderPress and (I think) recent versions of KEGS and AppleWin.

If you created a Sim //e emulator image, that is only expected to work
in the Sim //e emulator. (This could be better labelled in the UI.)
