Public school teachers have two observations/evaluations a semester. One is

served and classes or clock hours of additional training regardless of
evaluations. There is early parole in the form of something called
retire-rehire. A new full time teacher takes home about $400 a week and they
work 10 to 12 hours a day and lots of weekend time.
Yikes.
Pardon my ignorance but where does $400p/w put you on the
socioeconomic curve in the US? That's essentially a minimum wage job
here in Australia, but the comparative value of currencies between the
two nations is quite different.
