Applewin opens the .do type disk without any problems.

The image doesn't appear to have a catalog track at the expected area which

why Ciderpress probably balks at it.

It's a custom disk format.  CiderPress has no idea what to make of it.

Another way to handle this sort of archive is by changing the "files
of type" selection in the "open" dialog to "ShrinkIt Archives".  That will
open the .SDK as an archive instead of as a disk image, so you can test
or extract the contents.  Tools->Convert Disk Image is probably easier.

FWIW, depending on what you choose in the "open" dialog, a "foo.bxy" that
contains a disk image might be opened as Binary ][, ShrinkIt, or a

Thanks everyone. Is ADIOS-81 a Dos 3 variant or something? Is it
possible that I can copy the files over to a Prodos folder and run if
from a flash card?


So, the catalog is encrypted, at least? Older posts indicated that it
can't be placed on a HD as it stands (  :-(  I was hoping to load all
the disks into a Prodos folder - oh so sad ...)

It's not encrypted, it's just a non-standard DOS.  And the package's
I/O routines no doubt call directly into the DOS, so it is not easily
moved to another OS.

It is not uncommon for programs that "took over" all the resources of
the Apple II to be incompatible with later operating systems.  However,
muSimp and muMath are so modular that it would probably not be too hard
to rewrite the basic I/O functions to work with ProDOS--the big problem
might be memory allocation.
