I looked, but can't find the reference quickly.  I had that happen
recently on a new TransWarped IIgs I just got too.  It's a couple of
supposedly hidden CDAs (Classic Desk Accessories) that are only
supposed to appear when certain memory locations have particular
values.  Some boot cycles happen to leave those memory locations in
the "right" state, and viola, your shiny new CDAs appear.  I seem to
remember it being listed as a bug in ROM 03 code...
