I believe that SAM (the Software Automated Mouth speech synthesizer)
had a demo of its capabilities by doing exactly as you describe. You
might consider checking it out. I have a copy of the SAM software at
home I believe if you cannot locate it. I remember it being rather
amusing hearing my old //e casting insults at me.  :)
