I want to start a BBS or similar

G'day!

I've been thinking about this for quite a while now. I want to do some kind
of online content using an apple ][. That is the intended end use for the
clone ][ I have. Until I get it running again I was thinking of doing
something with an ancient X86.

My options and issues are:
* IBM PC. No case, no cases that fit the card spacing, needs powersupply
connector replaced.

* Clone XT. Will fit cases. Have powersupplies. Note: Has silkscreening not
unlike my clone ][. Also has solderpads for same powersupply connector as
clone ][.

* 286. Will fit cases. Will take 16 bit ISA cards. Lacks some of the vintage
appeal.

* Amstrad PC-20. Rare, unusual, Needs separate powersupply for extra drives
etc.

* Tandy T1000 (First model). Rarish, unusual, challenge to make things work.

* Toshiba 286 laptop. 6mb RAM, math coprocessor, uses PC drives, can't
expand it easily.

I also have a mac classic, mac plus, and a couple of Amigas. Plenty of other
8-bitters too. I'm opting for X86 initially because I have many parts for
them.

I'm hoping later on I'll get a IIgs to do this with.

Just thought I'd run this by the csa2 crowd to get a little input as it'd
basically be serving a2 and some c64 content anyway.

By the way it would be a telnet -> internet style thing, not dialin.

Any input would be nice.

Thanks,

Tristan.
