Whether it's a 3.5" or 5.25" it shouldn't make a difference should it?
All differences in stepping and other control signals are handled by a hex
inverter and a uC.
Thankfully none of the extremely time-critical lines needed processing by
the uC. There is tons of time left in the stepping routine.
As for the possible, okay probable error in my stepping routine if I can't
nail it easily I'll either plop a max232 on the serial lines of the uC and
send the trackcount, or just dump the 4lsb of the trackcount to the 4 free
lines on the uC and give it a povvo binary trackcounter. Ie 4 leds.
Could you please tell me what advantages the unidisk controller has? I have
both a Unidisk controller and a non-exact clone disk ii card. I think you
saw the photo of it a month back.
Tristan.
