According to the PC 3.5" floppy specsheet I have its rotational speed is
300rpm. The same as a disk ][.

Unless the datasheet I have is for an unusual type of floppy (which is
possible) it should be okay.

The stepper motor via my routine even does track0 calibration without
headbanging. Essentially on startup instead of the bumping it detects
the /TRACK00 signal, stops any further attempts to move the head out and
resets its internal track count to 0.
