Hi,
 I would try a head cleaner on the CDrom to see if that helps. Then I
would take the CDrom,SCSI cable and the disk to the other persons
house to see if it does the same thing over there on his IIgs. If it
does then I would try his cable with your CDrom to see if that helps.
 If it all works good then I would try YOUR HD with your entire CD set
up. To see if it is in the HD and the O/S. At least you would know
where the problem lies.
