Caps a poppin!

G'day!
Just thought I'd pull down the clone 2 for a check before turning it on.

There were 2x 0.1uF burnt matchheads for a start.
I also found evidence of a few other caps that have been replaced. The
original caps (not the replacements) had also fried judging from remnant
scorchmarks.
However no other components show any signs of stress.
I replaced the burnt caps (with unfortunately different values. better than
lumps of carbon)

I checked the seating of the sockets. Then I removed all cards (Including
the RAM card. Kind of silly) and started it up.

I got patterned junk with a bit of flashing junk.
With the ram card in all I get is a display vaguely like this:

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
etc.
Imagine the pipes are maybe single pixel vertical lines separated by a
same-sized gap.
Every second row is empty too.
The write LED is also active on the card when this is happening.
Considering these are basically direct clones of the ][, does anyone have
any suggestions?

I also tested all the expansion cards except for the RAM card in my IIe in
slot 7.
Results:
Parallel card: Probably working. One false start due to badly seated card.
Strange clone floppy controller card: Working.
80 column thing: Maybe working. Makes my monitor scream in pain. Connecting
it to the wrong thing?
