The color of the keyboard didn't look beige to me (screwed-up color balance
in the photo?), which is why I thought it may have started as a platinum
model.

Now that I think about it, the platinum IIe had a built-in numeric keypad as
well.  Was that part of the same assembly as the rest of the keyboard, or
were they two separate pieces bolted into one hole?
