I did not do any such coding to change things around. I pulled out my old 286 with a HUGE 40MB hard drive in 2 partitions and was poking around when I decided to do diskopt. It started to run and shortly thereafter crapped out due to bad sectors. The machine still booted but I couldn't get DOS off onto disks as that directory got screwed up. PC's really have no longevity.
And any disk optimizer is a system reliability test. ;-( -michael NadaNet networking for Apple II computers! Home page: http://members.aol.com/MJMahon/ "The wastebasket is our most important design tool--and it's seriously underused."
