IIc SD/MMC RAM

Isn't there a way to connect more RAM to a port underneath the keyboard
of the IIc? I have old manual describing a 256K/384K/512K RAM card
that was installed in the IIc underneath the keyboard. It bank
switched 64K RAM at a time in the auxiliary memory space. Would it be
much of a leap to add more address lines (and IO memory locations) to
access all of the memory on SD/MMC and connect this in the same way
underneath the keyboard of the IIc? You could also give other options
of access rather than just bank switching RAM in the auxiliary memory
space, like the way AE Ramfactor provides an IO address to read/write
one byte at a time to/from RAM and automatically positions to the next
byte. If one could build a IIc SD/MMC RAM card, I imagine a ProDOS
driver for this would follow.
