The funny thing is, I remember this on my (PAL) //e. Just from the
monitor, successive reads of $C030 produced 2 noticeably different
clicks.
On my (NTSC) //c this is not the case. Each click is identical. I
haven't tested Ultima V yet, but I should soon. Testing a simple sound
routine shows no difference given different speaker starting states.
The amplifier circuit must be more symmetrical compared to previous
models.
