apple iie, electron microscope..musings?

prev in this group i mentioned i got off ebay a modified apple //e from 
'dapple systems' it had dials where a keybd should be .an extended keybd, 
accel card, proslot card, mouse card, hi speed scsi card and a couple of red 
shift limited graphic cards etc ..i got all the software docs and disks etc 
....to start up my mad apple //e science lab...(understanding science would 
probably help..ah heck i'll just wing it)


anyway ...everything worked..it all fired up with an impressive looking 
scientific screen with mathimatical symbols and other science chat...of 
which i had no idea what it said except something along the line of 
"awaiting input" ...which i assume was the lack of the expected  and prob 
much needed device of the typical mad scientist apple //e lab...the

electron microscope

anyway ..just so you can prove to your friends ..that it prob is the end of 
the world...and it is possible to make your own apple iie science lab..and 
even get a somewhat dangerous device for it....and perhaps make the point of 
scary things sold on ebay.....the below is a link on ebay of a fully working

so....if i HAD $400 (or 4 apple // types in town pitching in $100 
each..unlikely) we could make an actual apple //e science lab with eguip 
needed to make it work....and pursue our mad view of banning any microsoft 
product off the planet...(not linux i don't understand linux but the penguin 
is cute)...insert scary mad scientist laugh here.....


somehow that whole notion of apple // types and hard science is very 
distrubing to me....(shudder!)

anyway the world is safe..i intend not to purchase the above ebay electron 
microscope...but it left me the unsettling thought of .......in the 80's the 
us military used to use apple //e's to guide their medium range missles in 
europe..ie the battle field low end nukes in europe ....maybe they will show 
up on ebay next?...the ultimate apple // collectable?...hey..my apple // 
used to put input to a nuke...*hard to fight that if you were in an ap2 
collector P*ssing contest on who's collection is best>?)

anyway so it goes...and as always i need a life...

(leaves computer....has old cistern that can be turned into fall out 
shelter...hmm......mumbles to self ..wanders off
in general direction of kitchen)
