Paul,

Its definately a serial port (I have the manual for the printer which
confirms this).

I don't know if it works with a Mac, because I don't own one. The
manual gives directions for installing on a Mac - ie. plug in the
serial cable, install drivers, etc - but I don't have access to a Mac
to test.
