I must have missed this news (though it was from before I had a IIgs),
it's the ideal setup that I've been looking for:

"7TH MARCH 2005
The Marinetti Open Source Project releases the Scripted PPP link layer
v1.3d4 which includes the MS-CHAP authentication protocol. This enables
a serial cable connection to be established between a IIgs and a PC
running a flavour of the Microsoft Windows operating system."
So I should be able to get online without a IIgs network card or modem
installed.
Has anyone here done this successfully with 2000 or XP? How's the
stability?
Thanks,
// CHRIS
