After doing a little more googling, I see that Marinetti supports
MS-CHAPv1:

For MS-CHAP, I found this wikipedia article:

I'm nowhere near ready to even try this, as I need to determine if I
can use a Super Serial Card with Marinetti on the IIgs or if I have to
go find a mini DIN cable to use with the IIgs native serial port.

I assume that 2000 and XP support MS-CHAPv1, but Vista will drop
support for it. Ugh.
