Without actually owning an Apple monitor, can anyone suggest the best
alternative for hooking up the IIc+ video to a modern monitor? The machine
has a composite video output that I tried hooking up to a composite
monitor. Unfortunately, the hi-res text mode looks horrible there. I tend
to upscale all of my old computers and game consoles to a VGA monitor, and
I wondered if there's any approach that would get me there with a good
picture on the IIc+. For instance, is there a conversion similar to the
Mac VGA adapters that work with the old Apples? Is the composite output
expected to be crappy in a hi-res text mode, or do I perhaps just need a
better composite monitor for it?
Thanks for any pointers to info that you can send my way. I'll still
getting up to speed on the A2 stuff, so please bear with me. :)
For 80-column text mode, I would recommend either a monochrome monitor
or an AppleColor Composite monitor. Both types are not hard to find
on eBay, but, as usual, you take your chances when shipping a monitor.
