Does that mean I should have the terminator on the unused port of the CD drive? Also, does the HD need to have a higher SCSI ID than the CD drive since I want it to boot first?Yes, the terminator on the last drive, if it's a pass-thru you put it between the cable and drive, and a stop type goes on the spare port.
Actually, a pass-through terminator can be used as an "end" terminator, too--you don't have to connect anything to it's socket. Attaching it to the other drive socket actually gets the terminator about 6" closer to the electrical "end" of the bus, which is theoretically better and practically irrelevant. It is also important that something on the bus provide termination power--which could be the controller card or either of the drives. Multiple devices providing term power is redundant, but should be OK. Multiple terminations (except at each end) are a bad thing. -michael New, faster SUDOKU v2.0 solver for Apple II's!
