Re: Apple IIgs Futureshock 3D Future Pad

Very true, I've never trusted ads in magazines as proof of a games
existance (Sword of Sodan is a good example). Is the game a prototype
then? I assume no box has been found.

Shame we can't hack joystick control into the game, but without knowing
how the game was to be controlled that would be tough. Someone would
have to go through the code I suppose.

If it was a joystick port device, then that wouldn't be very hard,
since the hardware addresses are unique, and the pad reading is
almost certainly centralized in one routine.

I was wondering if there was a way to recreate the pad or hack
something that would work like the pad. The game itself looks rather
interesting, and it would be nice if it were playable.

I personally doubt it ever existed (at least in a form that was
publicly available, there may have been a prototype made).
The fact that there was an ad in the back of inCider/A+
certainly makes you wonder, but then there was also a
full page ad for Sword of Sodan (not to mention it being
listed "in stock" for order from a few vendors).
