The Imagewrites are serial printers, so you will need a serial card. The 
Apple Super Serial Card (SSC) would be a good investment as not only will it 
allow you to print to the Imagewriter I but you will also be able to 
transfer disk images with ADT. Someone on this board can probably hook you 
up, if not there's always ebay.

A bigger challange, if you want to use the Imagewriter I, is finding a 
suitable cable. IIRC, the Imagewriter I's used a funky DB19 connector or 
something.

The grappler+ is a parallel card and can be used with parallel printers, 
provided you can find suitable drivers.
