The problem with buying one "used" is that you never know the state of
the batteries.

The Dallas clocks have a "stopped" mode in which they consume extremely
low power, and this is the state in which new clocks are shipped. In
this state they have a shelf-life over 10 years (although I haven't seen
a spec for this).

Once installed in a system and set, the clocks are running, and the
power drain increases. They should be good for 7-10 years running,
but their life is passing every minute that they run, even on the
shelf.

I have never seen a program to put them back into stopped mode for
storage (though it would be nice to have one), and, of course, even
if there were one, it would be hit or miss whether the previous owner
had run it.

The No Slot Clock is buried/listed at the very bottom of the online
store.

I am looking for a No Slot Clock for my //e. I had one in it back from the
late 80's but the NSC no longer works, I even tried replacing the battery.
Any ideas where there might be some of the No Slot Clock chip available. I
don't remember who made them originally.
