Ultima 4 plays nearly identically on the Apple II and C-64 - with the exception of a.) the Apple II needs a sound card for the music, b.) the Apple II disk access is faster - though the C-64 has various load accelerators so it might even out. Never benchmarked the speed difference in this way.
I guess if the music is important, and you don't already have a sound card for an Apple II, the 64 is perfectly fine.
