Re: Attempting a mirror of Gno from Apple2.org.za
Well, I'm glad someone is doing this. I had actually started to mirror
the site too, but about an hour into it, the domain suffix suddenly hit
me: .ZA. South Africa, if I'm not mistaken. Bandwidth charges for the
owner. Mass mirroring could actually cost the owner, which is something
I'd rather not do.
Now with that all said, I think multiple mirrors of important sites is
a VERY good idea. Greg is doing a very important service to us Apple
IIers, and I wouldn't want to take anything away from him, but it would
be a shame is something should happen to Greg, or his server, and
suddenly all that priceless stuff is gone forever.
Apple2.org.za is close to the last major Apple II site, so I'm very
relieved that there will be duplicates. I hope making copies of the
copies is a possibility to, down the road.
