Re: Attempting a mirror of Gno from Apple2.org.za

Well, I'm glad someone is doing this. I had actually started to mirror
the site too, but about an hour into it, the domain suffix suddenly hit

I'd rather not do.

Now with that all said, I think multiple mirrors of important sites is
a VERY good idea. Greg is doing a very important service to us Apple
IIers, and I wouldn't want to take anything away from him, but it would
be a shame is something should happen to Greg, or his server, and
suddenly all that priceless stuff is gone forever.

Apple2.org.za is close to the last major Apple II site, so I'm very
relieved that there will be duplicates. I hope making copies of the
copies is a possibility to, down the road.

Well, that's what I'm doing with their files... And maybe I could make a zip or something and torrent it for other people to mirror. I don't have any charges for usage above and beyond my fixed monthly fee. (Business ADSL. Not fast on the uplink but it does the job.)

http://www.dosius.ath.cx/trenco/ is holding the files, which are about 97% downloaded now. (I deliberately slowed down the process so as not to hammer the server) The files being downloaded are those in the FILE.LIST
