That's not exactly it. The problem is the Vulcan firmware only
recognizes drives with two heads. I found a few 100 meg drives that
would work with Vulcan Gold firmware because they were spec'd with 2
heads. I think they were Connors.
The vast majority of small IDE drives only have 2 physical heads, but
have 4 logical heads. I hope I said that right, if you're knowledgeable
enough to know, you know what I mean.
The reason I know this is I offered an Apple IIc Plus as a prize a few
years ago to anyone who could hack the Vulcan firmware and make it work
with drives with 4 logical heads. Could it be as easy as changing 0010
to 0100?
