One way to think of it is copy protection. Another way to think of it
is that each game has its own unique OS. Prodos occupies a lot of ram,
and thus might make it next to impossible to fit some games in ram and
play nicely.

Worth it? Maybe. Possible? Maybe not in some cases. It would be
nice to see the mutated prodos-based origin games play off of a
harddrive for a change. That would probably be doable. (ultima 5,
ultima 1&2 rereleases, wind walker)
