There's confusion.

The IIgs as far as I can tell is RsGsBsS

The big S is Composite Sync.    Using Roger Johnstone's SCART cable or
making your own, you can plug directly into any SCART TV and get an RGB
image...    So regardless of those extra little "s"'s, the gs output IS
Scart compatible already... which is why when I plug it into the
Aptus1, it works.

Another way to pose the question, Andrew, is just to say, "will your
converter accept normal SCART RGB?".    The Aptus1 isn't doing anything
special for the IIgs.
