I think Marble Madness did not work because of the SCSI card. I
removed it and Marble worked in my ROM 3. Put it back in, and no go.

I have the same issue with my RamFAST SCSI and Marble Madness (at
least the Digital Gang release deprotected by Sherlock Apple). I'm able to
get around that on my ROM 3 by setting slot-7 and slot-1 to "AppleTalk"
followed by a warm boot. The Second Sight on the other hand is one card I have to physically remove to prevent it interfering with software.

There is a patched hardisk installable version of Marble Madness from
what I recall (I don't have it, although I do have the patched Zany Golf
and Immortal that install to hardisk).

It would be fun to see what technique in these programs is tripping up
on the "peculiar" hardware.
