I thought the burst was shutdown while showing text,
but it looks like it's shutdown while in TEXT mode, which is not the
same thing... :-(

Yep, but I was thinking about a way to discern, by watching the signals
available on a IIc's video expansion port, if the next line coming out
was to be interpreted as color (the burst came on) or b&w (monochrome,
the burst is off)...
