Re: Anybody want a *$600* SecondSight VGA Card from Ebay?

No, not the only one... at least 6 others.

What I'm suggesting is that while Vintage does a very remarkable and
commendable job of doing things RIGHT thus avoiding any issues to begin
with 99.8% of the time, that when something goes wrong as it did in my
case, that man was extremely unpleasant to deal with. Maybe we were
both having a bad day and things spun irrevocably out of control -- I
will never know.

But you can see hints of this attitude all over his store policies.
NICE PEOPLE trust others and guarantee their stuff at least non-DOA,
ESPECIALLY at high prices. NICE people don't have to warn against
hostile behavior and whatever else he writes about. I myself have not
yet had a hostile buyer. All my negatives are from sellers with whom
I had issues. I'm sure there are buyers that can't be pleased or who
are out there just to pick fights, but for the most part, people just
want a FAIR deal, and what they thought they were getting. The term
that Vintage uses "As-IS" really has no meaning on eBay... because
As-IS assumes that you can see the item in person to determine what the
"IS" really IS.

Rather, it should be "as described." If someone describes something
one way, and it comes another, then no amount of "as-is" is an excuse
for fraud.
