Re: Super Serial Card Question?

Thankyou! I have been having trouble finding relevent pages.

You're welcome.

People have explained the history of the female D25 to me, for which I
am grateful.
I have read through some of the docs on the SSC cable and its various
modes and methods of communications.

What I am confused about is this:
Will the female D25 function as a standard female D25. And if it does,
is this in normal mode or terminal mode?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Whatever you do, you should verify the pins are as required at the final ends which connect to the serial ports. For more serial info,

The reason I bring this up is because one of the articles fuelled the
fire of my confusion. It talked about using a null-modem or a
passthrough cable depending on which mode the card is set.
I fail to see how a null-modem cable can be connected, because they are
female-female.

At any rate I've been needing to make a male-male null modem crossover
cable dongle thingy for ages. Mostly so I can use my Palm to control
devices. It just seems surprisingly difficult to figure out how to make
a male-male one.

The above link also has the pinouts required for null modems.
