That's correct.  You configure it the same way you'd configure it to
work with a modem, e.g. 19200-N-8-1 (19200 baud, no parity, 8 bits, 1
stop bit) and set the jumper block to point to "terminal."  Because the
jumper block is wider than the socket you should carefully inspect you
have properly seated the jumper block and no pins are sticking out of
the sides, which is very easy to do.
