I think the 2600 is pretty hardcore to get something good done on it. I
think it needs a special kind of programmer to write a technical and
commercial hit like like Pitfall or River Raid for it.
Most 2600-homebrewers seem to like the challenge to get something done
on it at all. The SNES is of course a much better equipped machine -
therefore this challenge isn't really existant.
Frankly I don't know if there is a SNES-scene or not - but I surely
have never seen any kind of documentation for it on the net (apart from
some photos of the internals). This may have to do with it.
