As far as heat dissipation, I disconnected the integrated cooling fans (I'm not a fan of fans). The GSE supply actually runs hotter than stock this way, probably due to it being a switched supply rated for 200W and designed with an integrated fan. If it was a 60w rated supply, it would probably run significantly cooler than the GS's. However, with the fans turned on, the case doesn't even get warm.
Interesting. The only mechanism for dissipating more heat because of excess "headroom" is larger core losses in the switching transformer because it has a larger core, plus consequently higher switching transistor losses. Everything else should dissipate heat only as a consequence of actual supplied power.
