Cider Press weirdness with strange VTOC
Hi,
I was just playing around today with making up my own VTOC for a DOS 3.3
disk which would only support one catalog sector, on Track 17, Sector 15. I
therefore freed up the remaining unused catalog sectors. My inspiration
came from the Apple Assembly Line article where Bob Sander-Cederlof
describes how to make a DOS-less disk with fewer catalog sectors, freeing up
Track 17, Sectors 8-1. For some reason, Cider Press will not open a disk
like I made, with only T17,S15 as a catalog sector, T17,S0 as VTOC and the
rest of T17 free. It complains about not being able to determine the
filesystem type. It will happily open a Bob SC DOS-less disk, where T17,S0
is VTOC, T17,S15-9 is catalog and T17,S8-1 is free.
Jayson.
