You can *USUALLY* "undo" that kind of number by hooking the eraser to a
good long extension cord, firing it up *AWAY* from the monitor (at least
10-12 feet), bring it close, then *SLOWLY* back it away from the monitor
to a distance of 10-12 feet or so before turning it off again.
Sometimes a repeat of this treatment is needed if you don't get far
enough away before shutdown, and it's always a good idea to have the
monitor turned on and displaying something so you can get an idea of
whether you're far enough away. (If the image is still "jiggling",
you're too close - back off some more before shutting it down.)
Go too fast, and you'll definitely need a repeat, since you'll leave the
shadow-mask magnetized.
