That could speed it up to about 2 cycles per (unconditional) sample. The LDA will run at accelerator speed (probably less than a cycle), but then it will take the rest of a cycle to synchronize to the bus and a full bus cycle to read the input. -michael Music synthesis for 8-bit Apple II's!
