oh well. They can't all be gems. ;-) I think the best way to repro. the soft strips is to 1) scan at a higher DPI setting, and 2) scan only in B&W and save in a non-jpg format (to avoid the blockiness -- I'd recommend tiff, png or gif) Good find though -- I wonder if the nibble magazine back issues have similar issues with softstrips...
