Re: How do I boot DOS from the monitor?

The way I always got back to the "]" prompt from the "*" prompt was by typing:

3D0G

Beware that if the vector in $03DO has been altered, it will beep and crash back to the monitor. Even if it doesn't, sometimes DOS has been overwritten and typing things like CATALOG will give a syntax error or crash to monitor.

It happened to me a lot while playing games, or rather trying to play another game without rebooting (rebooting took too long for an impatient kid like me.) All too often I would get the ] prompt and type CATALOG, only to get a syntax error, or worse, a beep-crash into the monitor. I remember when I was younger I always wanted to know what those numbers meant when it would beep at me. Years later now I'm (finally) reading a book on Apple II assembly.
