Hello,
I'd like to connect my wire-wrap clone Mockingboard to a backplane
connector so I don't have to move around the monitor and open the
machine every time I need to plug or unplug something.
Any good ideas on how to do this? I'd like to have an earphone style
stero line-out socket back there, like a PC's line-out. Where do I get /
how do I make something that fits the Apple's back plane but isn't Sub-D?
The usual approach is to use a metal mounting plate cut to fit behind
the D-Sub cutout. For the large holes, that gives you about 1.5" by
3/8" for connectors. Two screws mount the plate to the back panel.
The connectors themselves are pretty widely available with various
mounting schemes, with through-hole, nut-mounted being convenient for
this use.
