The c64 had a 1200 bps, excruciatingly slow floppy interface and the
drive itself had to have its own external power supply. The design of
the interface was so bad that future drive models bypassed it and used
the expansion connector instead. If you needed to expand you RAM past
64k, you needed to upgrade your powersupply, and the only text mode
that the c64 had was 40 column. You're still joking, right? The ony
decent thing that the c64 did have was a good sprite engine. About
everything else in the machine was poorly designed and/or innefective.
