I just posted the raw images (about 2MB each). The Apple II one is
currently a bit overrun with boxes and Mac Classics, but you can imagine
rearranging things a bit. There's enough space between the bottom two
shelves for my knees if I decided to use the space like a desk. What looks
like a pile of cables to the left of the IIgs is actually just a long
Ethernet cable, which plugs into the wall on the other side of the room.
(The jack is usually used for other stuff. If you want to know more
about my home ethernet wiring, see http://www.fadden.com/homewiring/.)
The PC setup shows the desk and monitor in the foreground and most of the
racks in the background. (My wife's computer is on the bottom shelf to the
left of the printers; she also has a desk with keyboard/mouse/monitor.)
The racks here are the heavy-duty variety (600 lbs per shelf, 24" deep,
5' wide, 6' high), whereas the Apple II ones are much lighter (18" deep,
4' wide, 6' high). I've had the heavy ones for years, and had my Apple
II stuff on it before I got married (which was largely the cause of the
second printer, the scanner, and the associated paper goods -- you can
imagine the Apple stuff fitting comfortably on the left end of the shelves).
Also, if you go to http://www.faddensoftware.com/ I now have links to
the MDC output for mirrors of both Asimov and Ground. It's compressed
with gzip, which most browsers will uncompress on the fly.
