We need something for the masses.

In that case, an RGB-to-component converter for a TV would be the
easiest way to get a faithful IIgs display.  (Of course, small format
TVs with component inputs are not common, and component inputs are being
phased out of TVs...)

More power to someone who can design a clean VGA converter add-on
for a IIgs.  I haven't been impressed with the ones I've seen or
heard about (which were external, with no access to the IIgs dot
clock).
