Re: Fixing my 1977 (Rev 0) apple ][

Thanks Allen for the confirmation. Unfortunately it did not work
either. I swaped around all the chips as you suggested, and then I
swapped all the chips in bank D too, just for good measure. No
significant change. Some slightly different random patterns and still
no beep and no response from the 'reset' key at all.

One thing I should have mentioned is that someone has wired up some
extra chips to the prototyping area, and at some stage has also removed
the 74LS257 chip and it's socket (adjacent to the keyboard socket) and
re-wired it on the prototyping area too. In removing the socket they
have caused some tracer damage around the original 74LS257 IC position.
Does anyone know if tracers damage can be fixed? It doesn't look too
bad, but it's obviously something well beyond my skill level.

So, does anyone know of a good technician that I could send the
motherboard to, and have them restore it to original, working
condition?

Thanks
P
